In the Catholic Tradition, there are seven sacraments, each of them said to have been instituted by Christ during his earthly ministry. These are:
Baptism
Reconciliation
Eucharist
Confirmation
Matrimony
Anointing of the Sick
Holy Orders,
The sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and Holy Orders pass on a permanent character and are received only once in a person’s lifetime.
